Investment stewardship
We demand and promote responsible corporate governance and sustainable business practices.

Proxy voting: we exercise shareholders' rights
We exercise shareholders' rights in the interest of investors in accordance with Swiss and international corporate governance rules, ESG best practice standards and the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment. We use the expertise of an independent voting rights consultant for this purpose. We publish our voting behaviour on swisscanto.com/voting. In single investor funds, we exercise the membership rights as fund manager or single investor.

Engagement: In dialogue on ESG issues
For Swisscanto funds, Zürcher Kantonalbank's Asset Management specialists engage in dialogue with the management teams of Swiss and some international companies in which there are significant participations. They are involved via the UN PRI collaboration platform and in investor initiatives. The aim is to promote sustainable business practices and to take into account the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). The anchoring of climate targets and the call to disclose climate-related financial risks in accordance with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) are also important.
